My life in our fanfare song

The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything”-Relient K
Arr! Arr! Arr! Arr!!

We are the Freshmen, we can’t do anything
We just stay inside, and lie around
And if you ask us to do anything
We’ll just tell you we’re not allowed

Well we can’t live off campus
And we can’t live in apartments
And we can’t stay out late
Only 12 o’clock!
Oh and I can’t get a date here (boys)
All these freshman boys are so weird (girls)
And we can’t rush a club
Until next fall
We are the Freshmen, we can’t do anything
We just stay inside, and lie around
And if you ask us to do anything
We’ll just tell you we’re not allowed

BUT we can do fanfare
And we can do spring sing
And we can do intramurals
All year long!
And we can plan our banquets
And we can go to chapel
And we have a full meal plan
In the caf

Cause we’re the Freshmen, we can’t do anything
We just stay inside, and lie around
And if you ask us to do anything

Ahhh the rite of passage for a college student... writing an angry song set to the "Pirates who don't do anything"... Here's the one we sang.

The Students Who Clap For Anything
Jennifer Suchman

We are the students who clap for anything
No matter who stands and says their piece
And if you ask us to hear anything
Just remember: we’ll clap for anything

Well, I’ve heard Mr. Pelfrey
And I’ve heard Mr. Walton
And I’ve heard people speak till we don’t have class at all
And I’ve heard missions minutes
And I’ve heard Central moments
And I’ve heard the students clapping through it all

‘Cause we’re the students who clap for anything
No matter who stands and says their piece
And if you ask us to hear anything
Just remember: we’ll clap for anything

Well, I’ve heard Mr. Fincher
And I’ve heard senior sermons
And I’ve heard men so boring that I slept right through it all
And I’ve heard sermonizing
By ones who should be singing
And I’ve heard the students clapping through it all

‘Cause we’re the students who clap for anything
No matter who stands and says their piece
And if you ask us to hear anything
Just remember: we’ll clap for anything

Well, I’ve heard Caleb Butler
And I’ve heard Jesse Colburn
And I’ve heard people singing who just shouldn’t sing at all
And I’ve heard drummers drumming
And I’ve heard guitars playing
And I’ve heard the students clapping through it all

‘Cause we’re the students who clap for anything
No matter who stands and says their piece
And if you ask us to hear anything
Just remember: we’ll clap for anything

Hee hee hee... I recall that being Brandon's idea to begin with, I just happened to be the musical one... Clapping decreased about 50% after this song was posted online!
